Messrs. Abu Ali & Associates (not their real name), a law firm based in Shah Alam, Selangor, is a booming law practice that deals with Syariah law and civil law. Part of their services is writing Wills for their clients. However, after being in the business for more than six years, they have found that one of the pressing concerns of their clients is, “How long will you store my Will?”
As a matter of fact, law firms are required by law to store their clients’ documents for six years. Whether a law firm stores his client’s documents for more than that, is a matter of initiative. Messrs. Abu Ali & Associates were concerned about how they could satisfy their clients’ need by storing their client’s Will in a safe and secure facility for easy recovery, while balancing their need to avoid overwhelming their own document store room. As they realised, law firms tend to use a lot of paper, and this generated heaps and heaps of files since the start of their practice. Further, they would inform their clients of our services, and help their clients to deposit their Will with our facility if their clients elected to do so.
